LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Arkansas State Senate voted 20-14 Tuesday to override Governor Beebe’s veto of the 12-week abortion bill.

The House will take up the veto override Wednesday at the earliest. They could pass the bill into law with a simple majority.

Beebe vetoed the “fetal heartbeat bill” Monday, citing constitutional concerns and cost to the state to litigate challenges to the law in court.

The governor vetoed a similar bill that would ban abortions past 20 weeks using the same rationale. Both the Senate and House voted to override that veto.

If a baby in the womb has a heartbeat, it must be alive. Sad that people want to defend murdering the baby if they wish. The baby is a human being! What about the baby's right to life?

Twenty weeks to twelve weeks in the course of a week. Keep on and the state of Arkansas will make all abortions illegal. Additionally reported in the news today is banning 'certain types of body modifications'. Get real - our state politicians do not have our best interests at heart. They send more time taking away rights than trying to figure out how to get a handle on the terrible crime rate in the state...the low test scores...the slum housing. * Our children are going to grow up without a decent education, fearing for their lives because of rampant crime, forced to live in hovels - but they will all look like perfect little people, and care for children they could not afford. * Go ahead state politicians, take away every one of our rights. Just remember when you retire someday, who will be around to help you out - and you will be wondering why no one gives a d*** about your welfare.

Might as well let it become law, it just adds another 800 or so babies to the welfare rolls!
