GREENBRIER, Ark. (AP) — Friends and family are holding a remembrance service in Greenbrier to mark the 10-year anniversary of the death of a 13-year-old girl who was abducted and killed by a man she met online.

Kacie Woody was kidnapped Dec. 4, 2002, and was found dead a day later. Authorities say 47-year-old David Fuller killed Kacie and then himself inside a storage unit in Conway.

The Log Cabin Democrat reports a memorial service is planned for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Greenbrier High School.

Authorities say Fuller posed as a teenage boy in a Christian chat room.

Kacie's father, Rick Woody, is a police officer in Greenbrier. Since his daughter's death he's been working to increase public awareness of Internet predators. In 2004, Woody received a community leadership award for his efforts.

What a horrible nightmare for her and her family. I cannot imagine the grief they suffer.

I can remember when this happened. Sad story. I was just finishing my computer degree at PTC. We had been told over and over; anyone can be anything on the 'net. Good to see her father working to protect others. "Social" media and chat rooms are overated. Most people have enough friends they don't need to "chat" with strangers. It isn't safe; never has been, never will be. I've been in one chat room; a homework assignment. Satan's Right Hand Woman was one of the people in that "room". That was my first and last chat room. Teach your children.... Kacie is at peace now, hope the creep isn't.
