Shooting at McCain Mall

The North Little Rock police report a shooting occurred at the McCain Mall Wednesday night.
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – The North Little Rock police report a shooting occurred at the McCain Mall just before 7pm on Wednesday night.

According to reports, Austin Ridgell was walking around the mall with several friends when four other men bean to “stare him down.” Ridgell approached the group and asked if they wanted to take the disagreement outside. As the two groups walked out of the mall, Ridgell told police that the suspect pulled out a black gun and shot him in the upper left side of the chest. The shooter and his friends then fled the scene, running through the mall parking lot. Ridgell’s friends took him to Baptist Springhill hospital, where his condition is currently unknown.

The suspect is described as a young man wearing a peach colored button down shirt and blue jeans.

The investigation is ongoing.
