Arkansas shoppers prepared for Black Friday hours in advance.
“There are all these specials here and I’d save a lot of money,” said 12-year-old Keegan Neldon. He’s 4
th in line Thursday afternoon outside of the Best Buy in Little Rock. He has his eyes on a new computer. “[It has] 8 GB of memory, an HD screen comes with it and speakers and a keyboard and everything,” he explained.
So he begged his mother to get in line. “He pretty much insisted he was old enough to stand in line and wait. We came by and there really wasn’t anybody here yet so I decided he could do it if he wanted to,” Chelyse Garrett said.
The wait time is “14 hours,” Neldon said.
The Hudspeth family comes every year. “We’re going to spend all night. I actually have heaters,” Heath Hudspeth said. “We’ll order pizza, have pizza delivered. I even brought hot dogs to cook on the heater tonight.”
He too is doing this for a new computer that’s too good to be true. “It’s normally about a $500 laptop. It’s on sale for $180,” he said.
That savings that comes with the price of waiting. “We have fun. This is like a camping trip each year,” Hudspeth said.
