Six deaths reported in Arkansas from West Nile virus

LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Arkansas Department of Health is reporting 6 deaths from the West Nile virus, 48 total infections state wide.

How to protect yourself from the West Nile virus

  • Drain standing water from your yard. Empty standing water in flowerpots, buckets and kiddie pools.
  • Don’t go out at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes feed without protective clothing.
  • Do use insect repellents with the active ingredient DEET when you go outdoors.

How many of those deaths are on the hands of the health department for refusing to disclose the area originally so people could have been more aware?
