There is no shortage of fun in central Arkansas this weekend. The 25th annual Greek Food Festival kicked off Friday morning and lasts through Sunday evening. There is plenty of entertainment and, of course, all of the great Greek gourmet is in abundance including gyros and baklava. Organizers say there are even some new items on this year's menu.

"There's a lamb sandwich that just got introduced this year as well as we have some pastries from Jerusalem this year…as well as free admission, you can bring the whole family, come out and enjoy dinner,” said co-chair Wayne Alley.

Money raised at the festival helps provide scholarships and benefit non-profit groups like Easter Seals and the March of Dimes. The festival is open Saturday from 11 until 9 and Sunday from noon until 6.  Don't forget there is a drive thru and you can even order and pay for your food on line.

The fun doesn't end there. Movie lovers are in for a treat. This week Little Rock hosts its 3rd annual film festival and this year's event is bringing out some big names.

You've seen him on TV for years. “{Little Rock is} very impressive. I haven't been here since the late 80's the Donahue show came here to interview Governor Clinton on public education," said Phil Donahue who headlined the festival’s gala.

He also showed off his documentary on the Iraqi war.

"This is the first time I’ve ever made a movie. So in many ways over the last 5 years we've been at this, I’ve been feeling my way along a dark hallway. This is all new to me and it is not for the faint of heart. This is a contact sport this movie thing,” Donahue said.

Event organizers say this year's event is bigger and better than ever.

"Our opening night was on Wednesday and we had 2 screenings completely sold out and screenings continue to go all the way through the weekend when we close the festival on Sunday,” said organizer Brent Renaud.

Filmmakers from across the state and even 15 countries are here all for the love of film.

Governor Beebe joined them, taking part in the film festival's gala at the Clinton Library Friday.

There are even more exciting events across central Arkansas this weekend.

Saturday at 9 am, the Stueart Pennington Running of the Tubs bathtub race will take place on bathhouse row in Hot Springs.

Also Saturday, the 18th Annual Picklefest continues in downtown Atkins.

At 7pm, in downtown Magnolia Saturday, there's the Magnolia Blossom Festival and World Championship Steak Cook-off Ceremony.

The Little Rock Film Festival will wrap up on Sunday with a screening of the movie Field of Dreams at Dickey Stephens park beginning at 8:30 pm.
