State Revenue Climbs with Surge in Sales Tax, Income Tax Collections

May sales tax collections rise by $12-million over same month last year.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - State revenue is climbing with surges in sales tax and income tax collections.

May sales tax collections jumped 7.0-percent compared to year ago levels, bringing the month's total to $183.9-million, an increase of $12.0-million.

Individual income tax collections in May also helped after exceeding forecast by $3.8-million.

Latest figures from the Arkansas Department of Finance & Administration show May's net available revenues at $334.2-million, which is $8.4-million above forecast.
