Black Friday is when shoppers flood the stores the day after Thanksgiving hoping to snag one of this year's biggest deals.  But why wait until Friday.  In an effort to cash in on the eager holiday shopper several places will roll out sale items and keep the doors open Thanksgiving Day.

FOX16 has the inside scoop on how to get a deal and get your holiday shopping done early.  Many retailers this year are taking extra steps to lure you in.  Before the turkey is done digesting in your belly you can hit a dozen or so places around the state.

K-mart will be open from 7 a-m to 9 p-m.  Walgreens will have special sale items available all day and night.  Garden Ridge will begin their shop-a-thon at 9am on Thanksgiving and won't shut the doors again until Sunday.  And at Blockbuster you can rent a movie for yourself and buy one of the discounted flicks for someone on your list.

At Comp USA they will serve pumpkin pie to Arkansans who shop from 9pm to midnight.  Even Wal-Mart will be open on Thanksgiving day.  Target is taking it a step further offering Christmas sales before Thanksgiving.  At Circuit City, the early bird gets the worm and discounted HD TV's.  Plus DVD's for $2.99.

Susie Thompson hopes to finish all her holiday shopping before the turkey hits the table.  "Last year I came in here the day after Thanksgiving and waited in a two hour long line. I decided I wouldn't do that this year."

Toys R Us and Best Buy are offering bribes to get you through the doors.  Best Buy will hook you up with a $10 to $30 gift card when you pick up a discounted iPod.  And Toys R Us is handing out $10 gift cards with all $75 or more purchases.

The day after Thanksgiving was coined Black Friday because it’s when holiday sales are supposed to tip store accounting ledgers from red to black.  However it's not the biggest shopping day of the year.  That honor is given to the Saturday before Christmas when hoards of last minute holiday shoppers pillage the shelves.

Experts say procrastinating can pay off with some great bargains but typically some of those must have items will be sold out.
