Arkansans Taking Advantage Of Free Sales Tax Weekend

Arkansans are braving some tough crowds on Saturday, getting their hands on back to school items for the sales tax holiday weekend. Businesses told FOX 16 its prepared for the busy weekend.
LITTLE ROCK, AR- Arkansans are braving some tough crowds on Saturday, getting their hands on back to school items for the sales tax holiday weekend. Businesses told FOX 16 its prepared for the busy weekend.

"Today's been a great day, we've been very busy from the time we opened," said Veena Morrison, Target Manager.

Target also expects to be busy until the store closes. Target Manager Veena Morrison said the store saw extra foot traffic on Saturday and is expecting even more on Sunday. Businesses say the sales tax holiday is one of the busiest times of the year.

"Loading up on back to school shopping apparel and accessories, everything that qualifies for the holidays," said Morrison.

Some items that qualify include school supplies, clothing and accessories. All retailers are required to participate. If you missed out on Saturday's purchases, you still have time Sunday. It all ends at midnight.
