NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – A man charged with capital murder in connection to the shooting death of an EZ Mart Clerk apologized to the family Friday.

“I just wanted to say I’m sorry to the family. I didn’t mean to kill that lady,” said Jacobi Robinson.

29-year-old Akiya Egeston was shot to death Saturday night while she was working at the EZ Mart. Three men robbed the store at gun point. After leaving, one man came back inside and shot Egeston, killing her instantly.

Egeston's mother, Maria Currie, said Robinson's remarks are pathetic.

"Regardless if they got something from somebody, that’s still no reason to take nobody’s life," said Currie.

As police led him from the police station into a squad car, a contrite Robinson said he didn’t have a reason for the theft and shooting death and it wasn’t worth it.

“My life is gone.”

Robinson, 20, was arrested at his home at 1201 South Road #D in Jacksonville on Friday.

Also arrested in connection the murder is Davion Howard, 19. Howard was arrested in Texarkana and is currently being taken back to North Little Rock. Howard is also suspected in the armed robbery of a Citgo gas station in Jacksonville on Sunday.

Warrants for capital murder and aggravated robbery are out for a third suspect, Maclin Rogers, 20. Rogers’ last know address is 1007 Wright St. in Jacksonville, according to police.

Currie said criminals should use their brains.

"The first thing they should think about is if I do this, what's going to happen after I get caught," said Currie.

His parents should apologize for raising a worthless piece of trash. All three of them should die a brutal death. Blackandproud, I see you are still spouting that bullshemp.

He didn't mean to kill that lady? Bu//sh?-. He went back into the store to shoot her. I have no confidence that a Pulaski Co. jury will actually give a death sentence anymore, much less that it would survive our ridiculous supreme court. But it's what all three deserve, regardless of their joke of an apology. Squish all three like a bug.

SCUM AND BLIGHT OF THE EARTH....EXECUTE ALL THREE OF THEM. They think they are so smart, send them to work for Satan...or if for some reason God has mercy on them, maybe He will let them kiss His Robe. They don't need or deserve to live a life in prison. God Bless the clerk's family.

My heart felt condolences go's out to the victims family. The woman could have easily stayed home and drawn welfare, but took the moral high road and was being a member of the working community. And then these thugs that probably never held a honest job in their life, snuffed the life from 3 children's mother. And now one of them wants to apologize for robbing then leaving and then RETURNS to kill this woman. Words do not describe what should be done to these thugs.
