BATESVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Authorities in northeast Arkansas are investigating the death of a 16-year-old accused of fatally stabbing another teen.
Independence County Sheriff Steve Jeffery says the young man's death is being investigated as a suicide after he was found hanging from a bedsheet at a juvenile detention center in Batesville on Friday.
Jeffery said the 16-year-old was a suspect in the death of 18-year-old Nicholas Zurosky in Paragould.
Police in Paragould say Zurosky was listed as a suspect in the death of another 18-year-old the week before.
A coroner said that teen, Lisa Steele, was found shot to death at the same Paragould home where Zurosky was found dead.
Jeffery says he doesn't know whether anyone else was in the young man's cell at the detention center in Batesville.
