With Thanksgiving just days away, were fast approaching the busiest travel season of the year, with an estimated 25 million passengers expected to take to the sky. Thanksgiving will be the first major holiday since the TSA imposed new regulations regarding bringing liquids and gels on-board. TSA is calling their rule the 311.

If you're getting ready to take a trip and you don't want all of your personal items like gel, hairspray, and lotions taken away, then you need to know TSA's 311, in a nutshell if it will fit into this normal size ziplock bag, you're good to go.

"No no, I have no idea what the 311 is, I learned not to take any liquids on board because it's too much of a hassle," said Angela Mondragon.

That's why TSA officials are trying to get the word out on their 311. Here's how it works, travelers are allowed to bring liquids or gels in three ounce containers, it has to be in a one quart clear ziplock bag, and finally only one bag per traveler.

"This does allow passengers to carry on liquids and gels, in their carry-ons for convenience, it also helps us reduce the threat of liquid explosives," said Jerry Henderson/TSA.

Chrystal Johnson of Benton is traveling to Montreal to see her fiance and says she learned about the 311 the hard way. "The last time I came, they confiscated everything, nail files, lighter, a lot of stuff," said Johnson.

While Chrystal says she understands why the 311 exists, she's nervous about her luggage being lost or worse having her expensive makeup and perfumes stolen out of her suitcase.

"I had a brand new bottle of fragrance , I put it in my suitcase, and it was gone," said Johnson.

But Crystal says all she can do is follow the rules and hope for the best. "I just hope it all makes it with me," said Johnson.

Now ladies listen up, if you already have your ounces in your zip-lock bag, that's it, you can't also have lipstick and glosses in your purse, if you do they will be taken away. If you're traveling with a baby, baby formula and medications are permitted, and are not included in the 311 rule.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, more than 42,000 passengers will go through Little Rock National Airport compared to 38,000 last year. The busiest days will be Wednesday and Sunday.
