JACKSONVILLE, AR - She's the largest but least famous member of the Blue Angels. The C-130 cargo plane known as "Fat Albert" is used to transport spare parts for the world-famous jets but

at 120,000 pounds, "Fat Albert" isn't afraid to throw its weight around.

"We'll go anywhere from negative two Gs all the way up to positive two Gs so it's a very wide range especially for an aircraft this size," said Capt. A.J. Harrell, "Fat Albert"'s pilot. "It's a very dynamic environment to put your body in."

This weekend is an important air show for C-130 pilots. The captains of "Fat Albert" first learned to fly at the Little Rock Air Force Base.

"When we come here, it's like coming home," said Capt. Ben Blanton with the Blue Angels. "Not only because we train here but also because this is the place where C-130s live."

"We're always trying to find ways to keep it interesting, keep it exciting, stay engaged, and stay on the edge," said Capt. Harrell.

For a cargo plane, "Fat Albert" still has a few tricks of her own up those polished blue sleeves.

Hombre; are you being funny? Messing with my old head? A stealth bomber ( or fighter ) is not invisible to the naked eye; only to electronic detection.

Thanks Hombre; it was one of the best performances I've ever seen by an airplane. That bomber came in as if landing, then shot straight up like a giant invisible sling shot just sent it into the air! Flames coming out the engines, and it was almost out of sight in no time flat! Breath taking. Hat's off to all our military men and women! God Bless them! ( And our veterans too! )

@ArkansasYanke. It had to be a B1 (AKA Lawn Dart) that you saw. A B2 is a stealth bomber and therefore you wouldn't have seen it.

Couldn't get me in a plane again. Like my feet on the ground or in a boat/ship. Love watching them though. Airshow can't suck that much considering the number of people that go see it when it comes to town. An Airman friend of mine took me out there one evening many years ago. Walked around with a cold one, and looked at the aircraft. Can't remember if it was a B-1 or B-2; but it put on quite a show just before sunset. My hero's wear uniforms; regardless of branch; but GO ARMY!

If it weren't for Fat Albert the air show would really suck. Again the Marines save the day. For a itinerary of events see: http://www.littlerockairshow.com/
