MENA, Ark. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a 17-year-old girl in connection with the death of an 80-year-old man whose body was found in a ditch.
Mena police detective Brandon Martin says authorities found the body of Loyd Cole in a ditch near Gillham Avenue at about 11 a.m. Monday. Martin tells the Southwest Times Record that police consider the death a homicide, but they haven't released how Cole died.
Martin says police arrested a 17-year-old girl in connection with the death. The teen, whose name hasn't been released, is being held in the Polk County jail on a $500,000 bond.
Police declined to release details of the case, saying it's still under investigation.
