Lt. Terry Hastings with the Little Rock Police says they found a 17-year-old who had been shot in the upper torso in the parking lot of Kaufman Lumber.
The victim was identified as Adonis Denzel Taylor of North Little Rock. He was taken to the hospital but later died.
Police don't know much about what happened. Talyor lives in North Little Rock and his mother says, he would have no business in Little Rock. She says her son was supposed to be at his girlfriend's house Saturday night.
Kristin Copeland lives down the block from Taylor's home and says there's always trouble on this street.
"It's gone downhill. There have been a lot of murders of close people I know just around the corner from my house. I've been trying to get my dad to move. It's the people who move in to the neighborhood. It's just bad."
Copeland says, even though Taylor was shot in Little Rock she says, it's the people you know who live around you, those you hang out with, that can cause trouble. That's why she says she wants out of the neighborhood, and won't raise her kids here.
"I used to walk down these streets every night when I was younger. I had no worries. Now I carry a knife on me. I always have my self protection."
So far, Little Rock Police have no motives for the shooting, no suspects, and no answers for Talyor's family as to why he was shot and killed.
