Thieves Use Clever Way to Break Into West Little Rock Homes

The break-ins are happening in two upscale neighborhoods.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Little Rock Police tell neighbors to be on the lookout for thieves who are using a clever way to break into homes.

It's happening at the Saint Charles and The Villages of Wellington subdivisions on the city's west side.

Police said there's a woman who is seen walking the neighborhood with a dog. She rings the door to see if someone is home.

If there is no answer, investigators said she makes a call and three men show up in a blue van.

The burglars go into the house, grab some things inside, and then drive away.

Folks said they try their best to know all of their neighbors so that they can report trouble when they notice something a bit strange.

"You can't assume because it's quiet. You look down the street, you don't see anyone, but that doesn't mean you're safe. That doesn't mean your home is safe," Opal Neal said.

Police are also asking neighbors to get a license plate number on suspicious cars.
