Third suspect arrested in NLR murder

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - Saturday, the third and final suspect in the North Little Rock EZ Mart murder sat in the Pulaski County Jail with no bond.

The victim's mother, Maria Currie, told FOX16 on Saturday that she is really relieved police arrested all three suspects within one week of her daughter's murder.

Maclin Rogers, 20, joins Jacobi Robinson and Davion Howard in the Pulaski County Jail. All three are charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery in Saturday's EZ Mart murder of wife and mother-of-two, Akiya Egeston, 29, as she worked at the gas station.

Friday, Robinson confessed to the murder on camera.

Howard says he had nothing to do with the shooting. He is also a suspect in a robbery at a Jacksonville convenience store the night before Egeston's murder.

Police caught up with the third and final murder suspect, Rogers, early Saturday morning in Jacksonville when Rogers turned himself in.

Egeston's mother thinks people should think about the consequences of crime before they decide to ruin people's lives.

"How much you get from taking from a store or robbing people, taking their life is never worth it. It's never worth taking their life. Especially when you know if you get caught, it's gonna be the end of your life," says Currie.

When FOX16 spoke with Egeston's mother on the phone Saturday from her Illinois home, she told us she is very grateful police arrested all three suspects, and she thanks officers for keeping their promise of catching all three.
