Gurdon, AR - There's new information about the search for a missing woman that may have ties to an investigation of a body found in the trunk of a car.
The cold and dreary Friday (3/22) in Clark County resembles the mood of one of Cassie Carter's good friends.
"I'm really sad," said Sierra Burris.
According to authorities, Kimberly King filed a report with the Gurdon Marshall's Office on March 13th, the day her 20-year-old daughter went missing. The missing person report says Cassie was last heard from early that morning, may have last been with a man named Kevin Bolton and that it wasn't like Cassie to not return home or call.
King explained in the report her daughter's car has a baby on board sign on the back window.
According to a preliminary obituary from a funeral home in Prescott, AR however, Cassandra Nicole Carter died Wednesday (3/20) in North Carolina, one week after her mom reported her missing.
A file at the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina lists Kevin Bolton, the man Cassie may have been with, as having been arrested Thursday (3/21) and booked in jail on multiple offenses including possessing a stolen car, being a fugitive of another state and failure to report a death.
Burris, holding tears back remarked, "I'm really angry just because she's such a small girl and I know she went through a lot she had to of and a lot of people are going to be angry right now."
The Clark County Sheriff has been out of town and not available to comment but is reportedly in North Carolina.
