Mobile homes upended and people without a place to stay. That’s what people in one southwestern Arkansas community are dealing with right now. The National Weather Service says preliminary reports say De Queen was hit by a F1 tornado.

Kathy Parker’s house was destroyed. “My daughter and son-in-law and grandbaby live behind us. They were trying to get in the house and the doors wouldn’t open because of the pressure. We were separated and I was screaming for them,” Parker said.

In a few seconds it was all gone. Parts of the Parker’s carport were found a block away from their home.

Kathy’s says she is thankful that everyone is okay because every home in the area is destroyed.

Kathy’s husband Don says he is thankful he was left with a memento of his brother who was killed in Vietnam. The flag flew out of it’s case but wasn’t damaged.
