BEEBE, AR – Residents burning trash caused a 30 to 40 acre grass fire in White County that burned down barns and evacuated 3 homes, according to the White County Sheriff’s Office.

White County is currently under a burn ban. The sheriff’s office says they expect charges to be filed.

Six fire departments and the Arkansas Forestry Commission fought the fire. Two firefighters suffered from heat exhaustion battling the fire and had to be taken away in an ambulance.

County Ranger Kenny Coley said that if it weren’t for the preparation of the area volunteers, the fire could have been much worse.

The fire was located off of Ridge Road near Beebe. It is fully contained.

I'm not sure if it was the drugs that had his brain messed up or if it was the inbreeding aspect of it.

Hard to believe anyone still burns anything outside! Burn bans - on the news, in the papers, signs posted; maybe the bills they get from the fire departments, and the fine from the state/county will teach them a lesson. Hope the barns were insured; but don't know if their insurance will cover them if there was a burn ban on.

I don't think anyone out in this area is going to get much sleep tonight based on how much of the area is still smoldering and trying to flame up. I cannot believe anyone living out here would burn anything....ugh
