Arkansas restaurants and hotels are getting a big boost this week while Little Rock hosts a regional travel conference.

Hundreds of vendors, travel agents and writers are in town for Travel South. The conference gives tour companies a chance to come together and learn about attractions and travel deals in 11 southern states, including Arkansas.

"By getting them here and allowing them to experience Central Arkansas and Little Rock they will be able to bring their tours back to the state over and over again and that is continual economic development and we look forward to seeing that uptick," says Gretchen Hall, President and CEO of Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The conference is expected to bring in roughly $600,000 to the state.
