Trial Delayed for Man Accused of Shaking Infant Sons to Death

Travis Fox's trial was set to start Wednesday morning, but Washington County Prosecutor John Threet says the public defenders have declared a conflict of interest.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, AR -- The trial for a Springdale man accused of killing his two children has been delayed.

Travis Fox's trial was set to start Wednesday morning, but Washington County Prosecutor John Threet says the public defenders have declared a conflict of interest.

Now, different attorneys have been assigned to the case, and a new trial date is expected to be set on Wednesday morning.

Fox faces first-degree murder charges in the deaths of his 6 and 7-month-old sons. Springdale police arrested Fox in March after his second child died at a hospital from suspicious injuries.

According to court documents, the coroner recognized Fox from a previous case in 2011, in which his first child also died under suspicious circumstances. That case had not resulted in any charges.

Investigators say Fox admitted to shaking both children after drinking alcohol. He's since pleaded not guilty to the charges.
