ENGLAND, AR - A convicted murdered on the loose from the Tucker unit near England didn’t damper trick-or-treating for kids or their parents.

People who live just miles from where Reese escaped on Monday say it’s of course in the back of their minds but they won’t let it ruin their Halloween plans.

On Halloween, safety is the number one priority for parents, especially with prison inmate Curtis Reese on the run. Pamela Stewart says she doesn’t think he’s anywhere near the area anymore. “If he was that close someone would have seen him by now."

But she’s still being careful and driving her kids from street to street before the sun goes down. “They're just glad to get the candy in the bags."

Some parents only allow their kids to trick-or-treat at family and friend’s homes, but that's nothing out of the ordinary. Parents say they're always on guard and stay alert. Marie Bjork says not just on Halloween, but everyday it’s important to keep a close watch on kids.
“You just have to live your life. You can't live in fear."

Some of the older kids in the England community dressed up as convicts, making a joke out of convicted killer Curtis Reese at large.

Even a few little ones dressed as jail birds. Rachel Hamilton didn’t plan it that way for her 1-year-old but says it just happened to be perfect timing.

Douglas Bjork says having an escaped inmate in England is kind of adds to the eeriness of Halloween.

Law enforcement is still searching for Reese. Investigators have a few clues, but so far no sign of him.

This cat is long gone. This escape was planned out. He probably had a ride waiting for him and they are gone gone gone. Hopefully he will try to commit a crime and the person will be well prepared and spare us tax payers the expense of having him back in prison.
