Tulsa Drillers Coach Killed by Line Drive

Officials with the Arkansas Travelers confirmed late Sunday night that Mike Coolbaugh, a coach for the Tulsa Drillers, died after a being hit by a baseball at the Sunday game. Coolbaugh was the first base coach for the Drillers and had just recently joined the program.

Coolbaugh was struck in the head by a line drive at the top of the ninth inning. Witnesses on the scene say he was motionless on the field. Paramedics tell FOX16 he was still unresponsive upon arrival at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.

The game was suspended immediately following the accident. The Travs game against Springfield for Monday is canceled, as well as the Drillers game against Wichita.
