Two Arkansans landed spots in the coveted Top 40 on Fox's hit show American Idol.

Prescott native Rachel Hale made it through Thursday evening.  On Wednesday, she "wowed" the judges with her performance of Grace Potter's Nothing but the Water. Judge Nicki Minaj seemed particularly impressed with her performance and overall presence.

Little Rock's Charlie Askew made it into the Top 20 male performers.  The 18-year-old has performed in productions of the Arkansas Repertory Theatre's Young Artist program.

Earlier this week, Fayetteville's Ann Difani was eliminated from competition.

White Hall's Zach McKenzie was previously booted from the show.
