"I feel sick. Very sick," said Haley Clinton. Clinton was sleeping when her father, Ricky, woke her up to get her outside of their burning home. She recalls the next moments very vividly.
"I had so much smoke I fell and the boy who lost his life - Tyler French - he helped me. He put me on the floor and covered my face with a shirt," she said.
"He was a very brave man," said Ricky Clinton's brother-in-law, Shannon Sells.
Clinton got his two twin children and their two friends, including French, out of the house, initially. But French forgot something inside and ran back into the burning building.
"[Tyler] had to go get his mom's necklace and my dad went in after him and they didn't make it back out," said Clinton.
"All of our sympathy goes out to that child," said Sells about French.
Haley Clinton is left without parents. Her mother passed away from an illness just three weeks ago.
"The family has been going through a rough time," said Sells.
A father, a young boy and a house filled with their only remaining memories - now gone.
"He loved all children - he was very sweet to everyone. It didn't matter who they are. He loved everyone," said Clinton about her father.
"He gave his life trying to save this child. This man was truly a brave hero to us all," added Sells.
State Police are still investigating the cause of the fire but they believe it started in the vacant house next door to the Clinton's and spread. The four children were spending the night after homecoming celebrations at school.
