BISCOE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police have identified a woman killed in a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 40 that disrupted traffic in both directions for hours.

State police say the wreck happened at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday near Biscoe in Prairie County. A preliminary report says 33-year-old Kristin Jackson of Fayetteville was a passenger in a car that stopped behind a tractor trailer that had also stopped for construction. A third vehicle didn't stop and crashed into Jackson's car, which was pushed into the trailer.

Jackson was killed in the collision and the driver in her car was injured.

Both the eastbound and westbound lanes were closed for hours as workers cleaned up the wreckage.

Very sad...we can be sure the driver that plowed into them will suffer this for the rest of their life. R.I.P.

What a horrible tragedy right here at the holidays - especially tragic. I hope it had nothing to do with texting or other distraction that could have so easily avoided this horrible event. Yet the driver must have been distracted or asleep at the wheel or passed out. How do you not stop for a car and tractor trailer sitting still in the road? Very sad.
