After a chase that started in Ft. Smith and over the Arkansas River bridge the third suspect, Brandon Henderson, has been caught. Sheriff Ron Lockhart of Sequoyah County, Oklahoma tells FOX16 that his deputies were able to lay down spike strips and stop Henderson in a stolen car.
He is in custody in Oklahoma and they hope to bring him back to Pine Bluff some time today.
Henderson, 18, and two others, Nicholas Dismuke and Christopher Beverage, both 16, beat a guard as they fled a juvenile lockup in Pine Bluff. The guard, Leonard Wall, died Sunday from his injuries.
The three apparently stole a car after their escape and drove in it to Clarksville, where the car was found abandoned.
Deputies say say the escape occurred as guards were checking to make sure the detention center's inmates were in bed. Another guard was treated at a hospital and released.
Dismuke and Beverage are being held with no bond. The court found probable cause to charge them with escape in the 1st degree, capital murder, aggravated robbery, theft of property, and battery in 2nd degree. Their next court date is Feb 16th where the will be formally charged.
