LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Grant County Sheriff's Office have identified a body that was found in a well near County Road 75 and Mail Route Road in Washington, AR, south of Redfield.

According to reports, the body was confirmed to be 28-year-old Daniel Ash Johnson, who went missing from Jefferson County in August 2012.

Investigators are not sure how Johnson ended up in the well or if this a homicide or an accident, according to Sheriff Ray Vance.

The investigation is ongoing.

I'm not nearly as optimistic as you, mkennedy6405. This story seems pretty fishy. If I had already called a friend to bring me some water, I would be waiting by the road so they could see me. I wonder if he ever took that walk after fighting with his ex... or made those calls to a 'mutual friend' to bring him water. The story almost seems perfectly concocted to cover up for foul play in the event his body was ever discovered.

Missing persons news reports back in August stated that he had went for a walk and had called a friend to bring him some water. My guess is he came across the well and tried to get water from it and somehow ended up falling in or getting stuck in it. Sad story. Prayers for his family.
