All confessions from Curtis Vance and his DNA evidence will be allowed at his capital murder trial. The defense team was unable to convince the judge that police forced Vance to confess.

Before testifying on the stand Curtis Vance testified in the hallway of the courtroom.

“There is no seminal fluids found, there is no hair, there is no skin found in the Anne Pressly case.” Goins says: “ Do your attorneys agree with that?” Vance says: “I don’t know why my attorneys don’t come forward.”

His attorneys advised against it, but Vance testified anyway. Judge Chris Piazza wouldn’t allow cameras to take pictures during his testimony. On the stand Vance alleged he was hit three times by officers the night of his arrest for Anne Pressly’s murder and threatened into giving a confession.

Goins Asks: “ Did you kill Anne Pressly?” Vance said: “No, Sir.” Goins said: ” How come you have confessed so many times?” (Vance paused). Vance didn’t answer.

Prosecutors countered Vance’s testimony by putting every officer that was at the scene of the arrest on the stand to say that never happened.

Goins says: “Curtis the prosecution is basically calling you a liar” “That’s their job, that’s what they do,” he said.

Vance says detectives used what he called ‘police trickery’ on him and even pushed the idea that he is being framed.

Goins says: “Why do you believe it’s a conspiracy against you? I mean why you? Does that make any sense?” Vance said: “Not really.”

Judge Piazza agreed, denying all defense motion to keep Vance’s multiple confessions and his DNA evidence out of his trial.

Pressly’s parents were in the court room and visibly pleased with the outcome.

Vance’s family embraced him just before he made more statements to the media on his way back to jail. “I’m just waiting for the trial. I am just waiting for trial and for all the evidence against me to come out,” Vance said. Goins says: “Curtis what other evidence is there?” Vance said: “A lot of talk, a lot of word play.”

Vance is charged with rape, theft and burglary in the Pressly case. He's also accused in the April 2008 rape of a Marianna school teacher. He is set to go to trial in Pressly's killing November 2nd.

let him sit on death row so that he can think about what he did. she-or anyone else for that matter did not deserve that. I have 3 daughters of my own, and i cannot imagine what her parents are going through. they deserve some justice. why would you confess to something then take it back later on? if his dna was at the crime scene, then he's guilty. he has to answer to God some day.

Why do they keep wasting the courts time? He admitted it more then once, he wasn't coerced by the police dept., that is simply a plot to try to get off because he say's he was beaten....B.S. There was 8 police officers testifing aginst him saying that none of that happened, and I would belive the P.D. over this scum bag. They have his scum bag DNA all over the place. Some times I think it is hard for a person to admit what they have done, but man up punk, you said it, you did it. The death penelty in this case I believe is to good for him!

I am a bit confused about this entire case, I don't know if the police coerced the defendant into saying he commited the crime or not I wasn't there. But if DNA evidence points to the fact that he was the one that Indeed raped this young lady I think that's enough evidence for me to decide that he also killed her, and I don't see why he should get anything less than the death penalty.

I agree with choncha and shannonsar because he admitted it was he who did this horrible crime. I hope that he is sent to death row. And that should be for a short time! Or system of taking years to put them to death needs to be changed. How much time was Anne given, none, so why should we have to feed this sub human.

I am with you shannonsar, this fool doesn't deserve a trial, a cell, or even a prison meal ! That sick, deranged freak confeesed. What more do they need ? Why is he wanting to retract his confessions ? Some quack lawyer is trying to get his name in history so he can pat hisself on the back for a make-believe job ? Please ! I understand every criminal gets his day in court, but COME ON ! Did he show his victim compassion and justice when he was torturing her ? NO. It needs to be done and over with so she can finally rest in peace.

He is guilty; just looking at him makes me sick! If they let him out he will rape another woman and kill another woman. Black, white, hispanic or asian he deserves everything he gets. What he did is why the world is the way it is now if they would get rid of scum like this without hesitation we this place would be a little safer, I dont think he even deserves a trial the evidance is there and he confessed!!! Throw him away like he did the beautiful woman who did nothing to his nasty looking, disgusting low life trash that brutally murdered. Its totaly disgusting that he would claim to be not guilty. This peice of nothing has children I feel sorry for them!!
