Man turns himself in after killing his girlfriend in North Little Rock
North Little Rock police have a man in custody for the second homicide in the last 72 hours.

Tuesday morning around 4:30am police got a call from 28-year-old Steven Russell Jr, saying that police needed to come and pick him up because he had just shot his girlfriend. 

Officers responded to the Woodland Terrace Apartments at 1701 Skyline Drive and located a black female, later identified as Joy Owens, 24, bleeding and unresponsive on the living room floor. Owens was pronounced dead at the scene.

Russell was taken into custody and charged with First Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Person, and Possession of a Defaced Firearm.
 
Russell was taken to the Pulaski County detention facility and is being held on no bond.
