Police have arrested a man in connection with two LIttle Rock firework stand robberies. Authorities say Courtland Dwayne Ray was arrested after bragging to his friends about the robberies.

Pulaski County deputies say Ray and another suspect walked into the tent at 24 hour Fireworks World on Kanis Road at 3am Saturday morning but they didn't buy anything. Then deputies say the suspects came back a few hours later with at least five other people, pulled guns on the guardsmen and workers and demanded cash.

The men left after stealing about $2,000 worth of fireworks, a Playstation and about $40.

Terry Watson with Fireworks World doesn’t want people to think the fireworks stand is unsafe because of the robbery. “This place is safe and I feel safe out here,” he said. “We’ve been out here for 17 years and this is the first time anything like this has happened. I’m going to look at it as an isolated incident and I’m not worried that anything else is gonna happen.”

Watson says because of the robbery, the parent company in Batesville will take extra safety measures when that stand opens this week.

i personally know this poor child and all i can say is wow.... society has a hold on him (AND I KNOW THAT DOES NOT GIVE HIM A REASON TO DO WHAT HE DID)... our family thinks he really has a psychcological problem and needs to seek some help...

Weapons are neutral. Our society holds together on a fragile set of rules that reflect the goals of our majority. When someone breaks our rules and threatens our communities safety, we have the right and responsiblity to defend our position untill authorized individuals (police) are avalible capture the offender. There is not enough money or time or resources for "someone else" to protect "YOUR" life and property. Invest in weapons, learn to use them properly, educate your family, assign a value to your freedom and choose what situations you want to be in control of.

In my opinion carrying deadly weapons only escalates to more violence. What about when you get robbed ? They use your own weapon on you and then YOUR weapon because part of a massively growing problem. Yeah, thats smart. 2 wrongs don't save a life.

yeah, who buys fireworks at 5 a.m.? Obviously no one. Why not close down through the night. It's only going to lure trouble to stay open all night.
