The Little Rock police have released the name of the man wanted for shooting a McDonald's employee. Perry Kennon shot a McDonald's employee who was trying to be a Good Samaritan after a heated argument erupted in the parking lot.

A heated argument ended in gunfire at a Little Rock McDonald’s Tuesday evening. A store employee was caught in the middle while trying to be a Good Samaritan. Crime scene tape at the entrance of the McDonalds on Rodney Parham near I-430 is not something customers are used to seeing.

"When I get off of work this is where I come everyday to get a sweet tea, but after I saw all of the commotion out here. We didn't even go in," said customer Tina Harris.

That's because she couldn't. Police closed down the restaurant just after 5:30 Tuesday evening because of a shooting that started with a couple arguing in the parking lot.

"Apparently it's a domestic relationship. They have a child together. Right now were trying to determine a motive and what the argument was about," said Lt. Terry Hastings with Little Rock Police.

A store employee came out to try to break it up. The angry boyfriend didn't like that. "The suspect got a small caliber hand gun from his car, shot him in the chest and the suspect fled."

"This act of heroism is something we try not to encourage for all the obvious reasons,"  said store owner Ray Nosler.

The victim is in his 20's and he has been there a little over a year. The manager tell us he is a good employee who works nights. After being shot he walked back in to ask for help.

Employees were taken to police headquarters for questioning. Customers were inside at the time of the shooting.

"It's very unusual for a restaurant and to be in a business area like this, it's very unusual," Harris said.

Police aren't yet releasing names of the store employee.  No other employees or customers were shot.

Kennon is wanted for battery in the first degree.

Police say the Kennon left in a blue 2008 Nissan Pathfinder.  He is considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information on Kennon you are urged to contact the police immediately.

I just became aware that McDonald's is not offering to help one of their employees who was shot protecting one of their customers. You spend billions of dollars marketing and advertising your good name; however, you will not spend a dime on an employee who defended one of your guests. How can a company that saves children through the Ronald McDonald House treat an employee’s life with little value? You hire a lot of young adults in your restaurants. What are you teaching these young adults about corporate behavior when your behavior is so reprehensible. I would expect that if I or my family was ever in trouble for any reason inside a McDonald's that none of your employees would do anything since their employer will not support them. I hope that you will see the errors in your ways and step up to plate as a good corporate citizen. Otherwise it will be extremely difficult to swallow one of your 1/4 pounder's without the vision of a hero lying in his own blood while McDonald's Corporate did nothing. Jeff from MN 612-839-7346

Well we can see why he is "stuckinsouthAR". People who live in glass houses and all that wouldn't you say? ANYWAY, this is a tragedy and I hope the brave young man survives and recovers fully. He deserves kudos and congratulations from the community and McDonalds. The manager said they don't encourage their employees to get involved "for obvious reasons"....hum...because lawyers advised them to do so? It's called trying to avoid LEGAL ACTION. We'll just stand back, watch this young woman get beat to a bloody pulp and hope the police are able to respond soon enough to keep him from killing her. Maybe the young shooting victim should consider more honorable employment if and when he recovers...like Police, Fire or Military Service. Sounds like a man with a good and caring heart. Sounds like a HERO to me.

If you're going to critique the grammar and punctuation of others, you should probably make sure your own spelling is correct! ("pargraph"????)

My English on my previous comment was worse than what I reported. Sorry. I didn't mean for that one to get posted. In the fourth pargraph you used were for we're. Your editing, not you're editing, needs to be up to better.

In the fourth paragraph you have written were when it should be we're. You're, not your, are in the jounalism business and should know better.

My complaint is you used were for we're in your article. Does edit these article before they are posted? It would be a good idea.

Just another reason why every law abiding citizen should get a concealed carry license. If the bad guys had to worry about who does or doesn't have a gun, maybe they would think twice. Most criminals (including this idiot) are gutless wimps. As everyone else has said, my prayers are with the victims.
