There is new information from the Little Rock police arrest report on Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, 23, of Memphis, TN.

Here are a few of the excerpts from Little Rock homicide detective Tommy Hudson's report:
  • "Mr. Muhammad stated that he was mad at the US Military"
  • "Mr. Muhammad stated he fired several rounds at the soldiers with the intent to kill them" from arrest report released this morning
  • "Mr. Muhammad further stated that he would have killed more soldiers if they had been on the parking lot."

Police call his actions domestic terrorism. The man charged with shooting two army soldiers, killing one of them, makes his first court appearance Tuesday. Abdulhakim Muhammad, 23, faces capital murder and 16 counts of a terroristic act. The FBI is also investigating this incident, which may result in additional federal charges and prosecution.

Muhammad didn't speak or show any emotion. It was just a 3-minute hearing revealing more into what motivated a recent convert to Islam to open fire on u-s soldiers.

There was stepped up security around the Little Rock district court building as police roped off parking areas and barricaded streets.

Muhammad faced a judge on 17 felony counts, including capital murder. Telling police in a taped interview he pulled up to the Army / Navy recruiting center on Rodney Parham looking to kill uniformed soldiers.

Muhammad appeared with his attorney, public defender Stephen Thomas.

"This will be a not guilty plea your honor," Thomas says.

District Judge Alice Lightle ordered Muhammad held at the county jail with no bond. And had Pulaski County deputy prosecutor Scott Duncan read from the interview Muhammad provided police.

"He stated he was a practicing Muslim mad at the United States military because of what they had done to Muslims in the past," Duncan said reading from the statement.

On the arrest report it says Muhammad worked for Twin City Tours. It was based out of a hotel at University Ave & I-630 until yesterday. Hotel management tells FOX16 News the company no longer has an office at that location. When we called the number on the back of the brochure, it forwarded to a Memphis office.

Court documents show police found an assault rifle in Muhammad's car and ammunition. Detectives also seized computers, cd's, a cell phone, a locked safe and Arabic written materials at his apartment on Mara Lynn in west Little Rock yesterday. Muhammad telling police he had recently viewed video pertaining to subversive activities which spurred him to commit the act.

"He additionally stated that he would have killed more soldiers if they had been on the parking lot," Duncan says.

Witness talks about shooting

Private William Long was killed in a double shooting at an Army recruitment center in Little Rock.

Two soldiers, just back from basic training, were gunned down Monday morning in front of an Army/Navy recruiting station located at Rodney Parham and Reservoir Rd. in Little Rock.

Lance Luplow had just parked his car across the street when he heard the shots. "At least 6 or 7 good shots, loud bangs, big gun."

When he ran to the scene he found both soldiers on the ground in uniform and bleeding. One of them, Quinton Ezeagwula of Jacksonville, was still conscious and had been shot in the neck.

"The one guy was saying, 'I can't believe this is happening' and he crawled into the store," Luplow says. "And the other guy was sort of out of it. He just had a blank stare, just looking up at the sky. He wasn't moving or anything."

That soldier was 23-year-old William Long of Conway. He died an hour later.

Minutes after the shooting, Little Rock Police arrested Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad, formerly known as Carlos Bledsoe.  He faces a murder charge and 16 counts of terroristic acts.

Police say motive was religious beliefs

Monday night, Little Rock police told FOX16 Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad, 23, targeted the recruitment center because his religious beliefs don't match up with the military's actions.  His name used to be Carlos Bledsoe until he converted to Islam.

Little Rock police escorted Muhammad to the Pulaski County jail Monday night after charging him with murdering Pvt. Long and shooting Pvt. Ezeagwula at an Army-Navy career center Monday morning.  He's also accused of shooting at everyone inside and around the building.  "Personally, I didn't know William Long, but as any soldier, I am saddened it turned out this way," says Capt. Matthew Feehan.

Police caught up with Muhammad at the 630/30 interchange minutes after the shootings and arrested him.  Police found three weapons in the truck and later searched Muhammad's apartment.  "They’re called assault weapons for a reason, and, yes, it is disturbing that an individual with ill intent was in the community, but we believe he's been stopped,” says Little Rock Police Chief Stuart Thomas.

Muhammad moved to Little Rock within the past few months.  Police say he didn't know the victims.  "I think he was targeting military personnel, and these military personnel were in uniform at the military facility and that's how they became targets," says Thomas.

Little Rock police are confident there are no other suspects out there.  "It was one individual, and one individual who acted alone on his belief, and it doesn't represent a broader conspiracy," explained Thomas.

Muhammad is in jail without bond.  He is charged with murder and 16 counts of a terroristic act.

Pvt. Long, 23, was from Conway.  He joined the military in January and finished basic training in February.

Pvt. Ezeagwula, 18, is from Jacksonville.  He is still in the hospital, but is expected to recover.

Didn't this self acclaimed terrorist commit an act of war? He attacked a US military command on American soil, with the intent of killing as many American troops as possible. President Obama, where are you? Not one word from you regarding this dispicable act against America! But did make a statement regarding the murder of a prominent abortionist by a deranged man. I would have to assume Obama does not consider our Military men and woman "prominent" enough. He is their supreme commander, are they just pawns to him?

Ten volunteer soldiers each with an M-16A2 rifle, 3-5 of those rifles to have one 5.56mm round of ammunition, the other 5-7 rifles to have blank rounds. Ready, aim, fire! Upon conviction, a quick death for a domestic terrorist & cold-blooded murderer. No financial burden to the American taxpayers. This probably won't happen because we are to accomodiating and compassionate to those who murder, rape, and terrorise us. I take some comfort in knowing full well that when he dies, he will burn in hell. There is no greater punishment!

I must say that I am some what pissed at the State of Arkansas. Yes, it is his right for a Public Defender to represent this scum bag. I must only feel that the court appointed Public Defender must be sickened by the fact that he had to be the one appointed to represent this guy. Doesn't the court appointed Public Defender have the right to refuse to take this case.....after all, in his own words "I would have shot more if there were more in the parking lot" that to me say's enough...."GUILTY"

This is a Domestic Terrorist, he needs a speedy trial(his guaranteed civil right, we will even pay for his Legal defense if he can't afford an attorney. Then the tax payers also will get to house, clothe & feed him the rest of his natural life, if he's convicted. Where is the justice for our Soldiers & THEIR families, who will live & relive this terrorism every step of the way thru the trial, appeal proces etc! Too bad Bledsoe didn't have the guts to seek his jihad eternal reward. He can call himself Muslim, change his name etc, but his actions speak loud and clear. There are probably other wannabe terrorists waiting/wanting their 15 min. of fame, remember that when this guy gets sentenced. This country needs to send a strong message, Christians & Muslims can live in peace, side by side. Terrorists are a different matter entirely. I will pray for the victims & their families. I will ask for justice for them. I feel sorry for Bledsoe's family, they find themselves in the middle, I'm sure they love their son, but this guy chose to commit this act of terror and needs to pay for what he has done.

I have known the Bledsoe family for a number of years and Carlos was not raised in such manner. His family was full of love and support of their children (which was he and his sister), as well as other family members and friends. I was shocked to hear of what Carlos has done. It goes to show regardless of how you were raised when you move from your parent's home then there are decisions you decide to make on your own whether good or bad. I do pray for these families of these soldiers as well as the parents and sister of Carlos for they tried to raise him up in a good state of mind and with much love. I know they are sadden by these decisions he made and are very displeased with his judgements.

Sergeant D, I applaud you and all other military personal. I gladly greet any personel in the service of the U.S. military with the respect they deserve. You have put your life on the line too protect punks like this what ever the hell his name is. I only wish that he would have tried to take it out on the police as well, so they could waste this piece of crap....say it took 3 - 4 cops to bring him down, even at .45 cents per round, with only 1 shot each, it would have cost the tax payers less then 2 dollars to do away with trash.

I don't know what came over my cousin to make him act out and commit a crime like this. Carlos wasn't brought up to have hatred in his eyes or heart towards anyone. I am sorry and sadden for the to young men involved and their families; and even sadden for my aunt, uncle and his only sister.

The sad thing is that no one with a Concealed Handgun Permit was around when this happened. Crime is getting out of control and the only way to slow it is for the public to start arming themselves. Fight back!
