BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The Benton County Election Commission says it's sending its uncounted paper ballots from Tuesday's election to neighboring Washington County for tabulation.

The county has been unable to tally results from the general election after its three machines used to count ballots malfunctioned.

The commission says it plans to deliver the ballots to Washington County on Thursday morning.

Results from a state legislative race there could determine whether Republicans gain a majority in the Arkansas House of Representatives. With all races decided except House District 95, Republicans hold a 50-48-1 advantage over Democrats, with one Green Party member.
