Update: Arrest Made in Hit and Run that Injured 12-Year-Old

A Pulaski County Middle School student was struck by a car, and the driver kept on going.

JACKSONVILLE, AR- The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department has made an arrest in the hit and run that left a 12-year-old injured at a bus stop this morning.

According to investigators, 24-year-old Julia Locke admits to striking the child as she approached the stopped-bus at Old Tom Box Road and Brister Drive.

The child was crossing the street.

Locke is said to have then continued to a store.

She took an alternate route home.

Locke has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and 2nd Degree Battery, both Felonies. Her bond has been set at $5,000

She is scheduled to appear in court in June.

JACKSONVILLE, AR -- A Pulaski County Middle School student is struck by a car, and the driver kept on going.

It happened Friday morning on Old Tom Box Road in Jacksonville.

Deputies say the 12-year-old Northwood Middle School student was waiting on her bus when a driver struck her and did not stop.

The girl's bus driver and fellow passengers witnessed it all. Deputies have not released the girl's name, but only say she is recovering. 

Investigators are questioning people but have not yet made an arrest.
