Update: Man Accused in Stabbing Death Appears in Court

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A man facing first-degree murder charges after supposedly stabbing a man to death appeared in court Wednesday.

Kenneth L. Smith, 59, was given a $250,000 bond and remains in custody at Pulaski County Jail.

Police say Smith stabbed 30-year-old Marcus McFee on Monday after a verbal disagreement turned physical at the residence of Smith's ex-girlfriend.

According to reports, McFee and the woman were sleeping when they were awoken by Smith entering the apartment.

The woman told police when the altercation turned physical, McFee grabbed a baseball bat, and Smith stabbed McFee before fleeing on foot.

McFee was transported by MEMS to UAMS where he was treated but later died as a result of his injuries.

Police say the woman had known Smith for 15 years and provided them with the information, which led them to his last known location where he was arrested without incident.

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Police have made an arrest in a stabbing that occurred Monday morning.

Marcus McFee, 30, was attacked early in the morning and died around 7 p.m. Monday evening.

Police located Kenneth L. Smith near the 2100 block of Battery where he was arrested. Police have charged the 59-year-old with first-degree murder.

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The Little Rock Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred Monday morning.

According to police, they arrived at 1600 Elm Street just before 6 a.m. where they found Marcus McFee suffering from multiple stab wounds to his torso.

McFee was transported to a local hospital where he died Monday evening around 7 p.m. as a result of his injuries.

Police believe the motive behind the incident is domestic, with the suspect being an ex-boyfriend of McFee's female friend. The suspect believed McFee was in a relationship with the friend.
