Update: Plane crash kills LR pilot, 3 others

MONROE, LA - A plane carrying four people crashed outside of Richwood Correctional Facility in northeast Louisiana Thursday killing everyone aboard.

KTVE reports that the plane is co-owned by Central Flying Service out of Little Rock and two of the passengers were from Monroe, LA.

Central Flying Service confirmed that pilot Mason Mauldin was killed in the crash and released this statement:

“Central Flying Service confirms that Mason Mauldin, of Little Rock, was the pilot of the plane that crashed south of Monroe, Louisiana yesterday. Central Flying Service continues to work with Federal and Local investigators at the crash site. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the family and friends of those who were on board the plane.”

The plane was flying from Beaumont, TX to Monroe when it crashed.

The National Transportation Safety Board is expected to begin its investigation into the crash today.
