LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery announced Wednesday that a player from Van Buren won $250,000 on Mega Millions ticket he bought in August.
James L. Miller said he had put the ticket in his desk drawer and forgot about it. He said he goes by the Pointer Express 2 in Van Buren where the ticket had been bought every day, saw their sign that said they had a $250,000 winner, but didn't think it was him.
He was rummaging through his desk this week, saw the ticket behind several other papers and thought to himself, "I don’t remember having checked this ticket."
He took it to the store to have the clerk scan the ticket. When it said to file a claim, he called his son at home and asked him to check his numbers online.
He said, “Dad you got all the numbers but one, I think you have won $250,000!”
Miller says is going to pay his mortgage off with the winnings.
