Vance attorneys file DHS motion in Pressly case

Attorneys for Curtis Vance want the court to release DHS records related to Vance and his family.
Attorneys for Curtis Vance want the court to release DHS records related to Vance and his family.

In the motion his attorneys say DHS records could show possible abuse or neglect of Vance or his siblings when they were minors.  His attorneys say the records could provide evidence helping their client in a potential penalty phase of his trial.

In the filing Katherine Streett, one of Vance's public defenders, asks Circuit Court Judge Chris Piazza to order DHS to release any and all records related to their client.  Piazza has not ruled on the motion.

Vance is charged with capital murder, rape, residential burglary and theft for the attack on anchorwoman Anne Pressly last October.  Vance will make his next court appearance in Pulaski County June 16th following a court ordered mental evaluation.
