They're calling it "America's Bridge" even before it takes shape.

Veterans gathered today at Post One in downtown Little Rock to show support for dedicating the new Broadway Bridge to all veterans.

The original bridge was dedicated to World War One veterans when it was built 90 years ago.

Now that a new bridge will soon go up, they believe it should be dedicated to veterans of all wars.

"I'm trying to bring back the idea that those who served our country both working for freedom and working for peace ought to be acknowledged," said Pulaski County Judge Buddy Villines.

Judge Villines is behind the initiative, he says it has nothing to do with next week's election.

The way Stodala and Hayes are dragging their feet on the construction of this bridge, maybe this group should wait before they select a name. Heck, Villines may be out of his lifetime job before this thing gets approved and built!

Your 3:18 AM comment is so right. Name it after a married preacher that used church money to keep a mistress! Jessie J? Remember what David Allan Coe said about him, his suits, and his lack of a job! LOL

Never had a problem at Ft. Roots. Are you trying to get disability? Try the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Don't need a Purple Heart to go through these people, and they are far more efficent than the people down the hall from them that are "responsible" for getting you on disability. Same building. I went to Roots to talk to someone in the IT program. Thought I was going to apply for an IT job. Turned out to be some kind of training program to get vets back into the workforce. They paid you a couple of bucks an hour to fold towels and sheets in the laundry room! LOL I told the guy in charge this was the 21st Century; IT means Information Technology. Anyway, he sent me back to the lady that first talked to me; she looked at my medical records, told me I was disabled, and walked me over to the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and I was on full disability in no time. Not at all like the people just down the hall; don't know if he is still there, but the guy at the window there was rude, curt, ignorant, uncivil, unfriendly, and a dumba**! Good luck.

Great idea. But who believes Buddy says this has nothing to do with the upcoming election?
