One of the nation's most powerful leaders was in Little Rock Saturday night, Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden is here to help Senator Blanche Lincoln kick off her re-election bid. Over eight hundred people showed up to get a Glimpse of Vice President Joe Biden.
For $150 a piece his supporters showed up in numbers. But he is not the only political leader they are supporting.
The Air Force 2 jet touched ground at the Little Rock Airport at 4:30 Saturday afternoon. A very important passenger is the center of attention. Vice President Biden greets special guests and gets a warm welcome from Senator Blanche Lincoln, Senator Mark Pryor and Governor Mike Beebe.
Ten year old Preston Corbin from Texarkana got a one on one.
"He said he is very happy to see me. I was so happy he shook my and," the 10 year old said.
Mr. Biden came to Little Rock at Senator Lincoln's request. Over 800 people filled the Peabody for a reception in her honor but Biden was the guest of honor.
"They are friends and she's very proud to have the Vice President here. It's his first time to Arkansas since he became Vice-President," said Steve Patterson, Lincoln's campaign manager.
Not everyone is cheering. Outside of the reception, a group called Campaign for Liberty protested the fundraiser saying Lincoln supported bailouts for Wall Street.
Lincoln says that improving health care is among her priorities. So is help for farmers.
The Vice President says he and President Obama have no doubt the country will overcome its economic woes.
