VILONIA, AR - The Vilonia Air Evac Lifeteam base has been selected as the company’s 2012 Region 4 Base of the Year, according to a release. Region 4 consists of Air Evac Lifeteam bases in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
The Base of the Year Award is presented to the base in the Air Evac Lifeteam system that best exemplifies the company’s mission, including community service, education, and scene work.
“This base has a family atmosphere that has pulled together and grown into a successful team and base,” Regional Director of Base Operations Judy Dyke said. “They have employees that truly love what they do, and each one comes to work to help those in their time of need.”
Dyke said other bases could learn many things from the Vilonia, particularly in the areas of teamwork and overcoming adversity. "Without a doubt, the Vilonia base is deserving of the Base of the Year award.”
The Vilonia base is led by Program Director Laura Guthrie, who is in charge of all operations at the base.
Air Evac Lifeteam is a membership-supported air ambulance company that provides emergency care and rapid medical transport to rural communities throughout the central U.S.
