HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - The Garland County Sheriff's Office says a woman has drowned while trying to save her dog from a stream that runs off Lake Ouachita west of Hot Springs.

Sheriff's Lt. James Martin says the 40-year-old woman was with her dog about 3:15 p.m. Monday when the dog jumped into the stream. Martin says the woman went into the water after the dog and that both drowned.

The woman's name was not immediately released.

I swear. Since a woman lost her life I won't say what I'm thinking.
