LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Starting in a week will be a 20-day period involving multiple lane shifts at the construction zone in Little Rock at the Interstate 430 and Interstate 630 interchange.

Highway officials say the first of seven planned lane shifts will start at 9 a.m. July 19.

Workers recently changed some access ramps on I-430 southbound and narrowed the two southbound lanes that remain open in the work zone.

The state highway department says to expect delays on I-430 during the 20-day work phase.

Officials say workers will hang steel beams above I-430 that will be part of a project to install flyover lanes at the interchange.

Message boards, detour signs and advisory speeds will be posted as workers make the lane shifts.
