Young Father Killed On Father's Day In Conway

A 23-year-old man was killed in Conway early Sunday morning.
CONWAY, AR  -- A Coway man and father of a 3-year-old was gunned down and killed on Father's Day.

At 1:30 Sunday morning, police got a call of a shooting at the Motel 6 in Conway.

Officers found 23-year-old Quenton Alexander on the ground in the parking lot, shot several times.

His Uncle Aubry Burton said, "He was a real good person to be around."

Burton says Alexander was trying to turn his life around before he died.

He wanted to be a good father for his son.

Burton said, "This right here is a tragedy and he has a three-year-old son who's not going to have a dad anymore."

Police say another man -- with Alexander at the time -- was also found shot in the parking lot, but he should be OK.

Burton doesn't understand who would want to hurt his nephew and right now police don't know why this murder happened either.

Officers say Alexander was shot while sitting in a car at the motel.

Witnesses say the man who shot him ran away and he hasn't been seen since.
