PULASKI COUNTY, AR --
Landmark Road is so safe and quiet that you'll more than likely see 3-year-old Will cruising the neighborhood. His dad Joey Evans says it's one reason he moved out here.
"This is a friendly neighborhood. On the street, everybody knows everybody. It's just like family," said Evans.
But lately, he questions the serenity. Thieves snuck into his two vehicles and dozens of his neighbors. They snuck because everyone of the victims failed to lock the doors.
"There are dogs all on the street and usually when somebody pulls in on this dead end road, they bark and I didn't hear nothing," said Evans.
The thieves check for unlocked cars, get what they want and leave the doors slightly open so they don't make any noise. They didn't take anything from Joey's vehicles but from others they got away with purses and wallets, GPS systems, and even an iPod. It's a wake-up call that no area is exempt from crime.
It's a lesson Evans will remember and pass along to his younger son.
"I hope they catch them," he said.
