Fox has given a put pilot commitment to Malcolm Gladwell's The Cure, Deadline reports.

The medical thriller, written by the best-selling author and Medium creatorGlenn Gordon Caron, is about a young, impulsive black neurologist who takes the law into her own hands to tackle a deadly disease.

Emmys fashion: Hits and misses

Gladwell is best known for his non-fiction books, The Tipping PointBlink, What the Dog Saw and Outliers. He's also been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1996, with a collection of his journalism, David and Goliath, being published as a best-selling book in 2013.
