Officers with the Hot Springs Village Police Department (HSVPD) were called to 14 Alava Way on Tuesday.
The Garland County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) says once inside the home, officers with the HSVPD confirmed the victim's injuries were not consistent with natural causes. The exact cause of death will be determined by the Arkansas State Crime Lab as well as identification of the victim.
The GCSO was called in to assist in the investigation and will assume the case. The Hot Springs Village Police Department and the Arkansas State Police will assist the GCSO.
Deputies say the incident is being investigated as a homicide, and investigators do have a person of interest in the killing. However, no charges have yet been filed.
The GCSO says investigators do not believe the person of interest is still in Hot Springs Village or the Garland County area. There are no known immediate safety concerns to the public with this person of interest.
The victim's name and cause of death have not yet been released.
