New Information On Pine Bluff Officer-Involved Shooting

PINE BLUFF, AR -- In tonight's crime alert, documents, released by the Pine Bluff Police Department, give us some answers as to why a Pine Bluff officer shot her boyfriend.

It happened at Lt. Denise Richardson's home -- on West 36th -- Friday morning.

According to the police report, Richardson told detectives she got into a fight with Percy Smith and he knocked a phone out of her hand.

Richardson also says Smith shoved her into the couch.

According to her statement, Richardson saw Smith holding something black and feared it was a pistol, so she pulled out her gun and shot him.

Smith's recovering at a hospital.

Richardson is on administrative leave.
